The External Investing Group ("XIG") provides investors with investment and advisory solutions, across leading hedge fund managers, private equity and private credit funds, real estate managers, public equity strategies, fixed income strategies and ESG (impact) strategies across all asset classes. XIG manages globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and a range of advisory services. Our investors access opportunities through new fund commitments, fund-of-fund investments, strategic partnerships, secondary-market investments, co-investments, and seed-capital investments. XIG Private Markets platform Management
The XIG Private Markets Platform Management team is broadly responsible for portfolio implementation, liquidity risk management, portfolio allocation and monitoring, external manager on-boarding and oversight, private market deal closing, valuation models for Level 3 assets, oversight of the business control framework, and a number of strategic initiatives.
Within this broader team, we are seeking a highly analytical and driven Associate to join the Petershill Platform Management Team. Petershill is a GP stakes investing platform focused on minority investments in alternative asset managers. The ideal candidate will combine strong financial and fund accounting fundamentals with advanced analytical capabilities and the ability to work with large, complex datasets.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Analytics & Investment Support
  • Analyze portfolio performance, including AUM, P&L, margins, and underlying fund activity
  • Perform variance analysis and identify key performance drivers
  • Support internal investment and portfolio review processes

Liquidity, Cashflows & Portfolio Management
  • Manage tracking and analysis of distributions, receivables, and investor cashflows
  • Support liquidity planning and forecasting
  • Coordinate with Controllers, Operations, and other teams

Data Management & Reporting
  • Own collection and validation of investment and portfolio data across partner firms
  • Produce recurring reporting and management materials
  • Work with large datasets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity
  • Partner with Engineering to improve data infrastructure and reporting processes

Valuation & Audit
  • Execute asset-level valuation processes, including model inputs and documentation
  • Coordinate with internal teams and third parties and support audit processes
  • Ensure outputs align with investment agreements and governance standards

Deal Execution & Partner Engagement
  • Support deal onboarding, funding coordination, and data setup
  • Assist with allocation processes and related analyses
  • Serve as a point of contact for partner firm finance teams

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in private equity, fund accounting, or financial analytics

Technical Skills
  • Strong financial and fund accounting knowledge (P&L, cash flow, fund structures)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience working with large datasets
