Job description

ALM Commercial Landscaping is searching for a landscape maintenance Operations Manager to oversee and direct all landscape maintenance operational and account management functions for our Birmingham location. Reporting to the Regional VP of Operations, this position supervises account managers and maintenance team, directs the scheduling and performance of duties, monitors revenue, production, and costs and actively engages with customers to ensure satisfaction with services. This is a Full-time position, with typical hours being 6am to 4pm, Monday-Friday with on-call responsibilities. In addition to receiving a base pay and being benefit eligible, this role qualifies for performance bonus as well as a company vehicle and cell phone. Relocation assistance available!
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the operational and financial success of the maintenance department and branch location
  • Monitor the scheduling of work to be performed with leaders and ensures proper manpower needs and materials are available to completed services.
  • Monitor financial performance through weekly financial reporting with senior operational leaders and assist in the creation of the annual budget.
  • Ensure all safety policies are adhered to at all levels and that company provided PPE requirements are in place.
  • Meet with team members informally each day and formally once a week to ensure all customer and employee needs are being met.
  • Meet with Business Development on all new potential sales for the branch. Schedule the work and assign an Account Manager. Schedule an Account Transition with the Sales and Operations Team to meet the client and answer any operational questions before the start date.
  • Review Fleet and Equipment needs daily with your maintenance staff. Also, review new equipment and material advances.
  • Handle customer service issues as they arise with the team. Get involved in all renewal activities.
  • Responsible for all personnel activities such as interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, performance management and coaching, employee relations, etc.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience managing teams, preferably in landscaping or related industry
  • Excellent communication skills with ability lead and connect with a diverse employee base
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred
  • Must be very organized and able to multi-task and deal effectively with changing priorities
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
  • Comfortable using computers and other forms of technology is needed; ASPIRE experience is highly preferred.
  • Shares in company values and can demonstrate those in the field
