Job Description:
Parsons is looking for amazingly talented Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Integration Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will support the integration, testing, evaluation, sustainment, and operation of UAS platforms in support of U.S. Government mission requirements. You will serve as a Remote Pilot in Command, technical subject matter expert, integrator, and test engineer responsible for building, modifying, evaluating, and operating UAS platforms, payloads, command-and-control systems, and supporting technologies in laboratory, field, and operational environments.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Build, integrate, configure, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and associated support equipment.
  • Conduct UAS flight operations in support of testing, evaluation, demonstrations, training, and operational mission requirements.
  • Serve as a Remote Pilot in Command, Visual Observer, or mission support crewmember during UAS operations.
  • Develop test plans and evaluation methodologies for UAS platforms, payloads, software updates, firmware releases, and emerging technologies.
  • Execute structured testing and operational evaluations to assess system performance, reliability, operational suitability, and mission effectiveness.
  • Document test results, technical findings, operational observations, lessons learned, and recommendations through formal reports and briefings.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging UAS technologies, payloads, sensors, communications systems, and software solutions for operational use.
  • Support requirements analysis, system validation, interface definition, and capability assessments.
  • Integrate payloads, sensors, communications systems, radios, antennas, and supporting hardware onto UAS platforms.
  • Utilize CAD software to support UAS modifications, payload integration, mounting solutions, prototype development, and custom component fabrication.
  • Perform soldering, wiring, connector fabrication, electrical troubleshooting, and other hands-on integration activities in support of UAS builds and modifications.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, and operation of supporting systems such as EO/IR cameras, communications equipment, radio frequency systems, and related technologies.
  • Support Counter-UAS (C-UAS) demonstrations, testing, evaluations, and training activities.
  • Conduct UAS operations in diverse environments, including flying test articles to replicate operational or threat-based flight profiles.
  • Plan and execute UAS missions using mission planning software and approved operational procedures.
  • Maintain flight logs, maintenance records, inventory accountability, and system status within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or other approved tracking systems.
  • Complete After-Action Reports (AARs), incident reports, technical documentation, and operational summaries following flight and test activities.
  • Support FAA flight coordination, airspace approvals, waiver requests, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Support domestic and international deployments, including operations in austere, dynamic, and high-threat environments.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Aviation, Unmanned Systems, Robotics, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field and 5+ years of relevant experience, or at least 9+ years of related work experience in lieu of degree.
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate required.
  • Experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, or integrating UAS platforms and associated ground equipment.
  • Experience developing or supporting test plans, technical evaluations, operational assessments, or field demonstrations.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and experience working with tools and test equipment.
  • Experience with soldering, wiring, electrical assembly, and troubleshooting of UAS-related components and systems.
  • Familiarity with CAD software to support UAS integration, prototyping, and modification efforts.
  • Basic understanding of RF theory, communications systems, GPS/GNSS, telemetry, and command-and-control links.
  • Experience with FAA flight coordination, UAS incident reporting, and operational risk management.
  • Familiarity with FAA Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) processes.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports, test documentation, flight records, and After-Action Reports.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, including overseas and high-threat environments.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.

  • Knowledge of UAS software, firmware, and hardware validation processes.
  • Experience operating in test range, field, deployed, or austere environments.
  • Adaptable, mission-focused, and able to thrive in dynamic operational conditions.
