What You Can Expect

The Operations Transfer Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional operational intiatives while overseeing engineering performance, process improvement, and project execution across assigned profit centers or sites. This role combines strategic project management leadership with hands-on engineering management to ensure operational excellence, technical robustness, quality compliance, and delivery of business objectives.

The position leads the planning, execution, governance, and sustainment of complex projects, including process development, equipment enhancement, change management, budget control, and implementation support. The role partners closely with Operations, Quality, Finance, IT, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and other business leaders to align priorities, optimize resources, improve manufacturing capability, and deliver projects on time, within budget, and within scope.

This leader is also responsible for developing project engineering talent, strengthening project management discipline, advancing portfolio and continuous improvement efforts, and ensuring that all activities support company strategy while maintaining the highest standards of safety, ethics, quality, and regulatory compliance.

How You'll Create Impact
  • Lead large-scale, complex, cross-functional operations and manufacturing projects from initiation through implementation and post launch support. May personally lead as many as 5-8 projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and givern integrated project plans, timelines, milestones, budgets, resource plans, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure projects are executed in accordance with established PMO governance, business objectives, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive portfolio visbility and prioritization by supporting processes and tools used to identify, assess, and select projects with the highest strategic and operational value.
  • Monitor and communicate project status, key risks, dependancies, scope changes, and budget performance through dashboards, reviews, and leadership updates.
  • Proactively identify, mitigate, escalate, and resolve issues that may affect project timing, cost, quality, or scope.
  • Support organizational change management activities to facilitate successful project adoption and sustainment.
  • Support implementation of operational and engineering solutions in regulated environments.
  • Lead and develop engineering and project teams, which may include principal engineers, senior engineers, engineers, technicians, CNC programmers, and tool engineers.
  • Assign, prioritize, and review work for staff while coaching, mentoring, and developing team capability.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Finance, IT, HR, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to build business cases, define requirements, allocate resources, and deliver expected outcomes.
  • Provide project management and engineering consulting support to global or cross-site initiatives as needed.
  • Act as a change agent to drive operational excellence and standardization across clients, sites, functions, and processes.
  • Develop and refine best practices, tools, and frameworks for project execution, engineering management, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure alignment of engineering and project activities with strategic plans, operational priorities, and long-term organizational goals.

Your Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field required.
  • Advanced degree such as Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • At least four years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, operations, process development, and/ or project management required. Eigh or more years of related experience preferred.
  • Experience leading cross-functional, multi-site, or enterprise operations initiatives required.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Prior people leadership experience with responsibility for coaching and developing technical teams preferred.
  • Six Sigma or Lean certification/ training strongly preferred.
Travel Expectations
  • Typically 10-20%, including potential domestic and global travel as needed. Periods of more intense travel are possible.
Expected Compensation Range
  • $114,000 - $142,000
