Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Operations Engineer to provide onsite desktop and hardware support for a professional services environment. This individual will support end users by troubleshooting hardware issues, configuring new equipment, resolving workstation problems, and delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate has experience supporting executives and professional services users, is highly reliable, and enjoys providing hands-on technical support in an onsite environment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop support for end users in the Chicago office.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues involving laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, and related peripherals.
- Configure and deploy Windows 11 laptops and desktop workstations.
- Support Office 365 applications and basic end-user software issues.
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues involving docking stations, monitors, Wi-Fi, and workstation peripherals.
- Replace and install hardware as part of ongoing laptop and monitor refresh initiatives.
- Receive, prioritize, and complete assigned ServiceNow tickets.
- Escalate issues appropriately while collaborating with other desktop support administrators.
- Work directly with the IT Operations Manager to prioritize daily support activities.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while supporting attorneys, executives, and professional staff.
- Document work performed and update ServiceNow tickets with accurate resolution details.
- Maintain a professional, responsive, and customer-focused approach during all user interactions.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3 years of desktop support or IT support experience.
- Experience supporting users in a professional services environment (law firm, consulting, financial services, accounting, etc.).
- Strong hands-on hardware support experience with laptops, desktops, monitors, keyboards, mice, docking stations, and peripherals.
- Experience supporting Windows 11 environments.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience working with ServiceNow or a similar ticketing system.
- Strong troubleshooting skills related to desktop hardware and connectivity issues.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable supporting attorneys, executives, and other senior-level professionals.
- Reliable, responsive, and able to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting law firms or legal environments.
- Experience with laptop refresh or hardware deployment projects.
- Basic networking and Wi-Fi troubleshooting experience.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience supporting executive leadership.
- Experience with asset management and hardware inventory.
