Avista Senior Living in Nampa, ID  is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our senior living community. This position is also responsible for managing and overseeing the housekeeping department to ensure our community remains clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming for our residents.The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, proactive, and takes pride in maintaining a well-run community.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance
  • Oversee the daily maintenance and upkeep of the community, building, equipment, and grounds
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and repair needs
  • Troubleshoot and address basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, carpentry, and general building issues
  • Coordinate and oversee outside vendors and contractors as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, and service calls
  • Monitor maintenance supplies, tools, and inventory and order materials as needed
  • Help ensure the community remains safe and compliant with applicable requirements
  • Maintain emergency preparedness equipment and procedures
  • Identify potential maintenance and safety concerns and address them proactively
  • Respond to urgent maintenance needs and emergencies as required
Housekeeping
  • Manage and oversee the housekeeping department and daily cleaning operations
  • Supervise, train, and support housekeeping staff
  • Create and maintain housekeeping schedules and cleaning routines
  • Ensure resident rooms, common areas, offices, dining areas, and other community spaces are consistently clean and well maintained
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure housekeeping standards are met
  • Monitor housekeeping supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels
  • Ensure cleaning products and equipment are used and stored safely
  • Address resident and staff concerns related to cleanliness in a timely and professional manner
  • Work with community leadership to maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and visitors
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities management, property maintenance, or a related field
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of general building maintenance and repair
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Dependable, professional, and able to take ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to work respectfully and compassionately around senior residents
  • Previous experience in senior living, assisted living, healthcare, hospitality, or property management is a plus
