POSITION PURPOSE
The Banking Operations & Administration Coordinator I ("BOC I") is an entry-level position within the Banking Ops team, responsible for performing routine operational tasks and providing foundational support for deposit services and electronic banking products. This role assists with daily processing, member inquiries, and basic account maintenance while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of assigned responsibilities.
The BOC I work under close supervision and follows established procedures to support internal teams and members. This position serves as a developmental role, building knowledge in banking operations, electronic services, and credit union products, with opportunities for growth into more advanced responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Member & Product Support
  • Provide basic support to internal staff and members for deposit-related products and services.
  • Respond to routine inquiries related to debit cards, online banking, and account activity.
  • Assist in resolving member service requests, escalating more complex issues as needed.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and service in all interactions.

Deposit Operations & Payments
  • Perform routine daily operational tasks, including account maintenance, transaction processing, and exception handling.
  • Assist with debit card support, including transaction inquiries and basic dispute intake.
  • Support electronic banking services such as online banking, bill pay, and eStatements.
  • Process returned items, basic ACH functions, and general deposit-related activities under supervision.

Risk, Fraud & Compliance
  • Follow established procedures for identifying and escalating potential fraud or suspicious activity.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with Credit Union policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for operational processes.

Reporting, Systems & Administrative Support
  • Assist with routine reporting and data entry tasks.
  • Support the team with administrative functions, including document preparation and filing.
  • Follow documented procedures and assist in maintaining process documentation as needed.

Team Support & Development
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure completion of daily workflows.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to build operational knowledge.
  • Seeking guidance and feedback to improve performance and skill development.
  • Maintain effective working relationships across departments.

Requirements
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
At least one year of experience in banking, customer service, or administrative support preferred.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Basic understanding of banking operations or willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures and work in a structured environment.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and systems.
