Student Assistant, Athletics Facility Operations - Non OSU
Department:
Athletics | Plant Maintenance-JM
As a member of the Athletic Department, a facility Operations Student Assistant will perform a variety of tasks in support of the thirty-six varsity teams at Ohio State. Collaborating with the full-time Facility Operations staff, an applicant will be responsible for meeting and exceeding the needs of our building occupants and fans. A successful candidate will enjoy flexible scheduling, working alongside fellow students, and exposure to Ohio State Athletics events, venues, teams, and staff.
The duties and tasks listed below represent what is expected of an Athletics Facility Operations Student Assistant:
  • daily housekeeping and maintenance of locker rooms, offices, practice spaces, athletic fields, stadiums, etc.
  • game, event, and practice setup and tear down, including building conversions
  • attention to the cleanliness and setup of our facilities and grounds before, during, and after a variety of events and athletic competitions
  • light maintenance such as painting, changing ceiling tile, and use of hand tools

Interested applicants should have:
  • availability to work a minimum of ten hours a week, including event coverage on nights and weekends
  • a customer service focused attitude
  • the ability to work independently or in a group
  • focused attention to detail

Additional Information:
This posting is for a position with one of our many crews within Athletics Facility Operations. These crews include Covelli Center/St. John Arena, Schumaker Complex, Woody Hayes Athletic Center, Ty Tucker Tennis Center/Steelwood Athletic Facility, and Ohio Stadium. If an applicant is hired, availability and interests will be considered when placing them with a crew/facility.
The starting rate for this position is $13 per hour.
