Position Summary


The Operations Support Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for drivers entering and leaving the Nova Lines yard. The position supports operational activities, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring seamless communication between Drivers, Operations & Safety, Maintenance & Repairs, and Parts & Inventory.

The Operations Support Assistant helps to ensure that every vehicle enters and exits the operational workflow in accordance with Company standards, regulatory requirements, and the Nova Lines Operational Management System.

The position contributes directly to minimizing vehicle downtime while delivering a professional, efficient, and driver-focused service experience.


Core Responsibilities Operations Support

  • Intake all drivers entering building to determine their needs
  • Input required items on communication sheet
  • Communicate driver needs to shop as required
  • Communicate with drivers on repair completion for thoroughness of process
  • Release drivers once process is completed and communicate drivers readiness to Operations
  • Assist with coaching and terminations
  • Assist with Driver Retention concerns
  • Assist with equipment management
  • Inspection of equipment being dropped in yard
  • Assist Operations as needed
  • Assist Orientation drivers as needed
  • Assign company vehicles and track fuel levels and returns
  • Monitor Gate activity
  • Other duties as requested


Requirements:

Qualifications

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in transportation, fleet operations, dispatch, customer service, or operations support preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Knowledge with Operational procedures
  • Knowledge of DOT HOS and regulations
  • Able to communicate effectively through variable situations
  • Maintenance knowledge helpful but not required
  • Exposure to operations and safety processes.
  • Comfortable working in the yard and in-office; able to lift/tarp as needed for demos.
  • Basic systems: TMS/dispatch tools, incident logging, Google suite.

This position operates in both indoor office and yard environment.
