Part-timeJob Summary

The Maintenance / Housekeeping Assistant is responsible for assisting the Environmental Services Director with the overall maintenance, cleanliness and laundry duties within the facility.

Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent (Minimum: must be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions, diagrams, operational manuals, etc.).
  • Experience in maintenance / housekeeping practice and procedure required.
  • Capable of making mature decisions and following all safety practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist, per assignment of Director, with all scheduled maintenance and cleaning duties within facility (cleaning of equipment, maintenance of equipment, etc.) in a routine and regular basis to ensure that the equipment is kept safe, sanitary and operational.
  • Assist in supervising the work of all department personnel as assigned by Director. May assume duties of other personnel (laundry, housekeeping) during instances of need (inclement weather, employee illness, etc.)
  • Assist, as assigned by Director, with keeping records of all equipment and records of the scheduled maintenance and repairs made.
  • Assist with inventory of all linens and maintenance of procedure for the proper receipt and distribution of linens within the facility.
  • Assist with inventory of housekeeping, maintenance and laundry supplies for proper cleaning and maintenance within the facility. Assist Director with security of supplies to prevent loss/theft.
  • Review, as assigned by Director, facility products book for proper Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and assure one copy to the main office and one copy within the departmental SDS notebook.
  • Instruct employees, as assigned by Director, on the use of SDS sheets and the location of the notebook within the department. Review, as assigned by Director, each new SDS sheet upon receipt of a new product with the departmental employees in the area affected.
  • Assist with maintaining all equipment and facility properties in accordance with Facility Policies and Federal / State / Local Guidelines and Regulations.
  • Study and remain current with all changes to Regulations, OSHA standards, etc. as applicable to department.
  • Serve as departmental supervisor in absence of Environmental Services Director. Report to Administrator in absence of Director.
  • Other duties as assigned.
