Summary
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 97th Force Support Squadron, Fitness Center.
Pay will be set based on experience.

Duties
Help
Performs a variety of duties, responsibilities, and instruction in support of all aspects of a diverse and comprehensive physical fitness programs for Altus AFB fitness center which includes group exercise classes, self-direct fitness programs, special events and other programs IAW written guidelines. Develops and implements the intramural and varsity sports program. Prepares league schedules, promotes programs and maintains standings and changes. Coordinates with base organizations to ensure that sports advisory members are assigned and conducts sports council meetings to assure the by-laws and philosophy of intramural sports is thoroughly understood. Coordinates the use of indoor and outdoor facilities. Obtains marketing and publicity in support of sport events. Assists in establishing schedules of events as well as the rules and regulations to be observed. Establishes and manages files. Sets up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, tournaments, and practice games when such assignments require a practical knowledge of the rules and procedures of such activities. Maintains a continuity file and submits an after-action report on each event held. Establishes individuals' fitness improvement programs for patrons. Reports and tracks routine maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment. Services as desk attendant ensuring only authorized patrons use the facility and equipment. Greets visitors, answers telephone, makes reservations for classes or use of equipment and facilities, and provides information on scheduled equipment for safe procedures. Provides assistance and basic instructions to patrons in the proper use of exercise machines and equipment. Issues all equipment and completes required documentation for transaction. Inspects returned equipment noting damage. Reports damaged exercise equipment to supervisor. Makes recommendations on requirements for both the appropriated and non-appropriated fund budgets. Tracks expenditures, conducts cleaning of machines as necessary. Operates point of sale system; receives payment and issues change for services. Prepares cashier reports and makes daily deposits to central cashier. Performs opening and closing procedures IAW written guidelines. Assists in setting up and cleaning facilities, grounds, and equipment for programs and special functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience which provided a working familiarity with routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involve creation work in the area of sports and fitness; experience may be gained in a volunteer status. Must have basic computer knowledge as required to prepare and format correspondence, enter, maintain, and format spreadsheets, etc as appropriate. Experience must demonstrate knowledge of proper cash handling procedures, the ability to resolve common arithmetic problems used when receiving payment from customers, and the ability to operate a cash register. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds with assistance. Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination is required. Must be able to read, write, and speak English and communicate effectively with patrons. Must be willing to work an uncommon tour of duty. Must be able to satisfactory complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). This is a drug testing position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
