Role Summary

We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our development team and gain hands-on experience building, testing, and supporting software applications. This role offers exposure to modern software development practices, troubleshooting real-world issues, and collaborating with experienced engineers on production software systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and services.
  • Write and debug code under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Investigate software issues using logs, debugging tools, and code analysis.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of defects and production issues.
  • Contribute to software testing, validation, and documentation.
  • Participate in code reviews and team discussions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to support software releases and enhancements.
  • Learn and apply software engineering best practices, including source control and agile development methodologies.
Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming through coursework, projects, internships, co-op placements, or personal projects.
  • Preferred: C# programming experience.
  • Also accepted: Python, Java, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, or other object-oriented languages.
  • Basic understanding of software design, debugging, and testing principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to investigate issues and learn from logs, error messages, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Familiarity with Git or other source control systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with .NET, SQL, REST APIs, or modern application development frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio, VS Code, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar development tools.
  • Experience with academic, open-source, internship, co-op, or personal software projects.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, or similar tools.
  • Interest in applying AI tools to improve coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and productivity.
  • Exposure to automation, robotics, manufacturing systems, IoT, or hardware/software integration is a plus but not required.
