Red Bull New York ("RBNY") are one of 30 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS) and one of the league's ten original charter clubs. Founded in 1996, RBNY has competed in MLS since its inception. RBNY's First Team plays its home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey and its Second Team plays its home matches at Montclair State University. RBNY are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull GmbH, after which the team is named.
RBNY's First Team is a three-time MLS Supporters' Shield winner and a two-time Conference Champion, while the Second Team is the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Champion. RBNY also operates one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, spanning local partnerships across New York and New Jersey. RBNY's Academy is ranked among the top development organizations in the country.
Position Summary
Red Bull New York is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Head of Team Operations. This role reports to the Sporting Director and provides strategic oversight of operations across the club's professional teams, ensuring the First Team and Second Team are fully supported in all operational areas. This role directly manages Team Operations, Administration, Player Care and Equipment.
Working closely with Coaching, Scouting, Player Personnel, Medical, and Academy Pro Pathway, this role is responsible for establishing clear standards, aligning operations with Red Bull culture and standards, ensuring resources are organized effectively to support Club objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pro Team Operations Oversight
    Provide overall leadership and accountability for First Team and Second Team operations.
    Ensure training, matchday, travel, and day-to-day logistics run smoothly and consistently.
    Establish operating standards across professional teams while allowing flexibility for competitive and developmental needs.
    Anticipate and resolve operational issues quickly to minimize distractions for players and coaching staff.
  • Team Logistics & Travel
    Oversee planning and execution of all team travel, including transportation, accommodations, itineraries, and on-site logistics.
    Manage logistics for preseason, tournaments, and special competitions.
    Coordinate player onboarding, relocation, housing, and offboarding across both pro teams.
    Partner with internal stakeholders and external counsel on immigration and visa processes.
  • Financial & Resource Management
    Oversee operational budgets, vendor relationships, and equipment logistics.
    Identify efficiencies and priorities to support financial planning and resource allocation.
    Ensure training and matchday environments are properly resourced and supported.
  • Compliance & League Administration
    Ensure compliance with MLS rules and regulations, including roster compliance and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
    Maintain accurate league documentation and reporting.
    Partner closely with Legal and League Affairs on regulatory matters.

EXPERIENCE

  • 8-10+ years of experience in professional soccer; MLS experience strongly preferred.
  • Direct experience managing team operations, travel, logistics, and player administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of MLS rules, roster mechanisms, and the CBA preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgment, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Clear, effective communicator with strong organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours and travel as required.
