Bassett Furniture โ€“ Store Operations Administrator

Customer Service Opportunity | Hourly | Entry Level

The Store Operations Administrator (SOA) is responsible for assisting the manager in the daily operations of the Bassett Home Furnishings retail location, so that the storeโ€™s financial objectives, customer experience, and daily tasks are consistently achieved. Our SOAs work with customers to arrange payment for merchandise, provide follow up on customer service issues, schedules deliveries, respond to post delivery and service surveys, as well as provide information on many other issues and questions. They ensure adherence to the Bassett standard in the following areas: customer relations, administrative functions, operational processes, and systems. The ideal candidate must possess a true passion for customer service.

Necessary experience/skills/education/abilities

  • ยท Retail experience is a plus, but not required;
  • ยท Conflict and problem resolution skills;
  • ยท Organizational and time management skills;
  • ยท Commitment to Bassettโ€™s Vision and Values at all times;
  • ยท Valid driverโ€™s license and a maintained clear and safe driving record;

Essential Functions

  • ยท Assist design consultants with order entry, cash management, and financing applications.
  • ยท Assist ordering parts for customers such as arm caps, table legs, hardware, etc.
  • ยท Direct administrative functions, including management and maintenance of: Petty cash reconciliation, along with reimbursement and balancing of the cash drawer.
  • ยท Assist with sales order entry auditing using the daily transaction report.
  • ยท Work directly with customers to understand, troubleshoot, and resolve post purchase service concerns.
  • ยท Schedule customer deliveries, service calls and conducting customer satisfaction surveys.
  • ยท Processing service orders and maintain communication with customer on service status.
  • ยท Receive purchase orders for parts or store pick-ups.
  • ยท Audit and approve daily business folders and ensuring cash balancing to include all necessary supporting documentation is sent to the Retail Accounting Team including deposits and payments, in conjunction with store manager.
  • ยท Manage operational processes and practices, including: Store expense control, warehouse procedures, inventory accuracy, and building maintenance.
  • ยท Establish relationship and open communication with human resources, distributions centers, visual team, corporate customer care, accounting, etc.
  • ยท Perform other operational duties as assigned;
  • ยท Maintain satisfactory time and attendance.
  • ยท Collaborate with the store manager, regional visual and warehouse operations to assist with facilitation of floor moves and ensure adherence to the floor set guide and visual standards.
  • ยท Awareness of merchandising and marketing for new merchandise tagging and tagging updates.
