Job Description
The Reserves Network is partnering with a well-established organization in Omaha to hire an Accounting Manager. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys balancing day-to-day accounting responsibilities with process improvement and team development. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this position will oversee core accounting operations, lead the month-end close process, and mentor accounting staff while helping strengthen financial processes and reporting. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting schedules
  • Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
  • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team
  • Support internal and external audits and prepare required documentation
  • Identify process improvements, enhance reporting efficiency, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting initiatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
  • Five or more years of progressive accounting experience
  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or mentoring accounting staff
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes
  • Experience working with ERP/accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to identify process improvements and implement efficient accounting practices
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or CMA designation
  • Experience supporting organizations with multiple business units or complex reporting structures
  • Background in inventory, cost accounting, or operational accounting environments
