Your Role in Supporting Our Members:ย
As aย Consultant, Operational Risk Management, you will play a key role in strengtheningย Vancityโsย operational resilience by designing, implementing, and sustaining enterprise-wide operational risk and third-party risk management frameworks. This roleย provides independent second line oversight and challenge, with directย impact on safeguarding our members, supporting regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong risk-aware culture across the organization. We are seeking a risk professional with strongย regulatoryย expertise,ย strong analytical skills, and a collaborativeย approach toย influence sound risk practices across the business.ย ย
This is aย Full-time, Permanentย role based at ourย Vancity head office.ย While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands.ย
How You'll Make an Impact:ย
- Design andย enhance theย Operational Risk Management and Resilience Frameworkย includingย policies, procedures, and tools.ย ย
- Implement and sustain the Third-Party Risk Management Framework, including:ย ย
- Review andย challengeย criticality and risk triageย (CRT) assessments.ย
- Oversight of third-party risk assessments and due diligence.ย
- Ongoing monitoring, issue identification, and escalation of third-party risks.ย
- Design and implement the RCSA program; oversee and sustain KRIs, loss events, issues management, and scenario analysis.ย
- Provide independent second line oversight andย challengeย of first line practices across operational risk,ย resilienceย and third-party risk.ย
- Translate OSFI and BCFSA requirements into practical frameworks,ย policies, andย guidance.ย
- Support critical operations mapping and resilience activities, including scenario testing.ย ย
- Monitor risk trends and control weaknesses, escalating material issues to senior management and committees.ย ย
- Deliver clear risk reporting to senior leadership and Board/Board committees.ย ย
- Partner with business units to embed sound risk practices whileย maintainingย independence.ย ย
- Promote a strongย riskย culture and accountable decision-making.ย
Whatย Youโllย Bring toย the Team:ย
- 5+ years of experience in operational risk management, ERM or TPRM, preferably within financial services.ย
- A post-secondary degree in business, finance, risk management, orย relatedย discipline.ย ย
- Strong knowledge of OSFI (E-21 and B-10) and BCFSA expectations.ย
- Hands-on experience with RCSA, KRIs,ย lossย data, issues management, and resilience tools.ย
- Experience developing risk assessments, risk indicators,ย and Board-level reporting.ย ย
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across diverse business functions.ย
- Ability to produce Board-level reporting and insights.ย ย
- Strong stakeholder management with the ability to provide constructiveย challenge.ย

Whatย Youโllย Earn:ย
This role offersย a salary rangeย of$86,400 to $116,800ย per annum.ย The midpoint of the salary range isย approximatelyย halfwayย between the minimum and the maximum andย representsย an employee thatย possessesย full job knowledge, qualifications, and experience for the position.ย Theย base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills,ย previousย experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.ย
