Job description

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Southwest Medical Center is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer to provide executive leadership and oversight of the hospitalโ€™s financial operations. The CFO will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to support financial sustainability, operational excellence, and the organizationโ€™s commitment to high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Oversee accounting, revenue cycle, reimbursement, and financial compliance.
  • Monitor financial performance and recommend improvement strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and accounting standards.
  • Manage cash flow, investments, audits, and organizational financial risk.
  • Provide financial guidance for strategic initiatives and capital investments.
  • Present financial information to executive leadership and the Board of Trustees.
  • Promote accountability, operational efficiency, and responsible stewardship of resources.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required; masterโ€™s degree preferred.
  • Progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within a hospital or healthcare organization.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, budgeting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, and decisionโ€‘making skills.
