Position Overview:The Operations Manager oversees all daily field operations and overall construction
performance of the Branch, including commercial roofing and architectural sheet metal. The Operations
Manager is responsible for strategic development, quality control, safety oversight and implementation
of organization goals and practices. Additionally, the Operations Manager is responsible for developing
a strong team through recruitment and building continuity through coaching, training and performance
management.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees all daily field operations and overall branch construction performance (roofing & sheet metal)
  • Manages crew scheduling, project execution, and allocation of labor, materials, and equipment
  • Drives safety, quality, profitability, and on-time project delivery
  • Monitors project financials, identifies risks, and implements solutions
  • Develops and enforces policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Leads, coaches, and develops field staff; handles hiring, reviews, and performance management
  • Ensures consistent jobsite inspections, safety compliance, and accountability across teams
  • Builds strong client, supplier, and subcontractor relationships to support repeat business and growth


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Valid drivers license with DOT Med Card required
  • Basic accounting knowledge and ability to interpret blueprints, schedules, and contracts
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Effective negotiation skills and customer-focused mindset
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and time management across multiple projects
  • People-oriented, adaptable, and dependable in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with high stress tolerance and ability to meet deadlines

Education and Experience:

  • 10 years of experience with commercial roofing/architectural sheet metal/construction (required)
  • 5 years of experience with operations and personnel management
  • High School Diploma and GED
  • B.S. degree in Business, Construction Management, or related educational field (preferred)
  • OSHA 30 safety certification


Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Must pass drug screening and participate in random testing program
  • Work environment includes both office and active construction sites in all weather conditions
  • Comfortable working at heights (rooftops) and in physically demanding conditions
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform frequent physical activity (bending, climbing, walking, kneeling)
