Job description

The Fleet Operations Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Fleet Manager, assistant, shop hands, and mechanics in general maintenance tasks, repair of facilities and equipment, detail vehicles, pick up vehicles with truck and trailer, and computer duties as assigned. This position is in the office generally from 8a-5p Monday through Friday, with the ability to be on-call and have flexibility at nights and weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine tasks needed by Fleet Manager and other office staff.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Pick up fleet vehicles as business needs demand.
  • Detail fleet vehicles as needed.
  • Pick up fleet vehicles with a truck hauler or truck and trailer.
  • Conduct routine inspections.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in your workspace, vehicles and office space.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager or other leadership.
  • Proven experience as a Handyman or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Operates with flexibility and adaptability to any environment.
  • Operate in highly stressful situations from both internal and external sources.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, cleaning supplies, and other equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.
