Job description

At Southeastern Oral Surgery, our team prioritizes delivering the highest level of quality patient experience. In our busy office, everyone works to understand their tasks and collaborate effectively to ensure we meet our patients' needs. We value transparent communication and expect all team members to contribute to achieve the best outcomes while maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the oral surgeon during a variety of surgical procedures
  • Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols
  • Take dental x-rays of excellent, diagnostic quality
  • Review patient Health History to ensure it is recorded accurately and completely
  • Serve as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol, and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
  • Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after surgical treatment
  • Provide patients with post-operative instructions for oral care following surgery or other oral treatment procedures, such as the placement of dental implants or extraction of third molars
  • Record doctor notes and vital sign information during a surgical procedure or office consultation
  • Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential

Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience in an inpatient or outpatient surgical environment
  • Experience in a hospital environment is highly preferred but oral surgery experience is not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Consistently professional appearance and attitude
  • Must be detail-oriented, punctual, and patient-care-focused
  • Motivated to grow and learn new things
  • High school diploma or equivalent
