In Operating Room at Main Campus Children's of Alabama
Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift, Monday-Friday, 6:45am-3:15pm, with call.
Summary:
The Operating Room Technician (often referred to as Scrub Technician) is responsible for management of the Sterile Field during the surgical procedure and accompanying duties

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an approved Operating Room Technician Program or 1 year of Operating Room Technician Experience
Experience
  • One year of Operating Room Technician experience required in lieu of program graduation

Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
  • Current BLS certification required

With at least one Surgeon, one Anesthesiologist, one Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), one Circulating Nurse and one Scrub Nurse or Certified Scrub Technician taking care of one patient at a time. Providing surgical care in a sterile environment. Since Children's of Alabama is a teaching institution, you may also have residents, fellows, and physician assistants in addition to the already mentioned team members.
