Job description

Position: Cardiovascular Operating Room Nurse
Location: Madison, WI
Duration: 13 weeks
Pay scale: $3000/wk
Shift: Day/Evening


Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized nursing care in the cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) during cardiac surgical procedures.
  • Assist with patient preparation, including surgical site preparation and anesthesia administration.
  • Monitor and manage patient vital signs and cardiac status throughout surgical procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and safe surgical process.
  • Administer medications and treatments specific to cardiovascular surgery.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of intraoperative nursing care and patient responses.

Requirements:

  • Must have experience Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area (3 or above).
  • Must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.
  • Must have experience in an Academic Level 1 -Trauma center or similar size hospital.
  • Successfully completed traveler assignment (13 weeks).
  • ACLS, BLS
  • Compact or WI RN license
