Land Clearing Project Manager - MUKWONAGO, WI
Position: Land Clearing Project Manager – Full Time
Department: Homer Tree Service, Inc. - WISCONSIN DIVISION
Job Summary: The Land Clearing Project Manager is responsible for leading, coordinating, and overseeing all phases of land-clearing projects. They have a deep knowledge of heavy equipment operation, forestry and vegetation removal, environmental regulations, project budgeting and site work processes. The purpose of this role is to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule and within budget while maintaining communication with clients and teams.
Duties amp; Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple land clearing projects simultaneously for the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction to closeout.
  • Assess project sites to define scope, methodology, resource allocation, staffing, and equipment needs.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans
  • Coordinate permitting requirements and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Oversee daily field operations and provide guidance to crew leaders and equipment operators.
  • Manage the coordination of equipment mobilization, subcontractor schedules, and material deliveries.
  • Monitor work progress, quality and adherence to project specifications
  • Troubleshoot environmental issues such as terrain, site access, weather or equipment problems.
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Conduct regular site safety meetings, inspections and hazard assessments and maintain accurate records of incidents, permits, and regulatory documentation.
  • Manage all project documentation, including the consistent delivery of regular progress reports, detailed cost updates, and accurate change order documentation.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, such as landowners, general contractors, government agencies, and utility partners, serving as the point of contact
  • Oversee the compilation and accuracy of project closeout documentation, including all as-built drawings and completion reports
Qualifications amp; Abilities:
  • 5+ years of experience in land clearing, forestry, civil sitework or any other related heavy construction.
  • Preferred certification in project management, erosion control, or safety (i.e. PMP, CISEC, OSHA 30)
  • Valid driver’s license, and ability to travel to job sites. CDL preferred.
  • Clean driving record with no moving violations
  • Clean background check and drug test
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on uneven terrain
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Demonstrates strong communication, decision making and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance, erosion control and vegetation management
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exhibit decisive leadership in critical situations, ensuring effective and timely solutions
  • Mechanical proficiency and experience in overseeing repairs on heavy equipment and coordinating with technicians.
  • Proven track record of managing land-clearing and site prep projects
  • Proficient in project management software, schedules and other reporting tools
