Job description

Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a 13-week assignment working 5x8-hour day shifts. This position supports a high-volume surgical department with extensive robotic and orthopedic programs. The OR RN will circulate a variety of surgical cases and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide safe, efficient perioperative care. Candidates must be comfortable working across multiple specialties and participating in a rotating call schedule.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of Operating Room RN experience required
  • Robotics experience required
  • Orthopedic surgery experience required
  • Experience with sports medicine, urology, GYN, plastics, ENT, eye, podiatry, spine, and neurosurgery preferred
  • Active Wisconsin RN License or Compact License required (pending accepted)
  • BLS required
  • Epic experience preferred
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Ability to take rotating call required (2โ€“3 call shifts per week and every 4โ€“5 weekends)
  • Experience circulating multiple surgical specialties required
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced robotic and orthopedic surgical environment

Responsibilities include circulating a wide variety of surgical procedures, assisting with robotic-assisted surgeries utilizing Da Vinci Xi systems, supporting orthopedic, spine, neurosurgery, urology, GYN, ENT, plastics, eye, sports medicine, and podiatry cases, maintaining sterile technique, preparing and managing surgical equipment, performing patient positioning and safety checks, specimen handling and labeling, supporting trauma and emergency procedures, participating in call coverage, documenting patient care in Epic, collaborating with surgeons and anesthesia teams, and ensuring compliance with perioperative safety and regulatory standards.
