Shift: Shift 1
Job Summary:
Responsible for 24/7 supervision and coordination of the day-to day operations for the FMLH OR suites. This individual applies principles of leadership and human relations in the overall coordination and supervision of patient care and personnel in the operating room. Promotes a culture of innovation, collaboration, dignity and respect and continuous improvement. Maintains unit specific standards based on current literature and professional standards of practice. This position may be delegated additional responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Surgical services. Administrative call rotation is required.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
A minimum of three years of OR nursing experience is required. Prior Charge/lead/coordinator/educator experience is also required. Recent leadership experienced in an operating room setting is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. A Master's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Demonstration of Leadership activities in previous roles. Ability to type on a keyboard and learn the use of different computer programs. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with medical staff, nurse managers, OR staff, and other hospital departments. Analytical skill necessary to observe nursing practices to assure adherence to policy. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80% of worked time. Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). CNOR certification is preferred. American Heart Association BLS certification is required within 60 days of hire.
