Explore Columbia, SC

Between the coast and the Upstate, Columbia, SC anchors the Midlands with its historic State House grounds and easy access to the Three Rivers Greenway. The city works as a regional healthcare market, with campuses such as Prisma Health Richland Hospital and Lexington Medical Center. RN coverage here often centers on medical-surgical units and surgical suites supporting patient traffic from the region. As South Carolina's capital and home to the University of South Carolina, Columbia draws students, staff, and patients alike into the city center. Some travel nurses choose housing in nearby Lexington, West Columbia, or Cayce to stay close to the main medical districts. Summers run hot and humid here, so travelers often aim outdoor time at the early hours and plan the rest around the heat.
