How you'll make an impact in this role
  • Clinical Excellence & Standards: Champions daily operations across PAT, Pre-Op, OR, and PACU, ensuring a high-reliability environment that adheres to AORN, ASPAN, and regulatory standards for safe, evidence-based surgical care.

  • Surgical Flow & Throughput: Optimizes the full perioperative workflow-focusing on first-case on-time starts, turnover efficiency, and PACU throughput-by removing barriers and fostering close collaboration with Anesthesia, Surgeons, and SPD.

  • Talent Selection & Engagement: Partners with recruitment to select top-tier perioperative talent and leads staff provisioning, coaching, and "Just Culture" accountability to build a team where associates feel heard, valued, and professionally supported.

  • Relationship-Driven Leadership: Serves as a steady presence for patients and families from pre-op through discharge, balancing 24/7 operational accountability with a commitment to high physician satisfaction and a cohesive, collaborative culture.

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or jobtransfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • Required professional licensure/certification AND 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulativeleadership experience required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct OR experience
