Position Overview
The Nurse Manager II - Operating Room (OR) is responsible for leading clinical and operational functions within a high-acuity acute care hospital setting. This role oversees OR nursing operations, ensuring safe, efficient surgical services while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and driving quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage Operating Room nursing teams in an acute care environment
  • Oversee patient care delivery to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (Joint Commission, Nursing Practice Act, federal and state requirements)
  • Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and resource allocation
  • Drive quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within surgical services
  • Develop and execute strategic plans and operational goals
  • Support staff development, training, and succession planning
  • Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and hospital leadership
  • Lead emergency preparedness planning for surgical services
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license - California
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in patient care delivery
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare or clinical operations
  • Minimum 4 years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting
  • Recent Operating Room (OR) experience in an acute care hospital (Main OR required)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • CNOR certification
  • Experience in Operating Room specialty areas
  • Strong project management and change management experience
