Job description

Sparrow Company is searching for an experienced and safety-conscious Sit-Down Forklift Operator to join a growing team in Las Cruces, NM. This position is responsible for safely operating a sit-down forklift to move, load, unload, and organize materials while supporting daily warehouse and production operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Safely operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload, transport, and stack materials
  • Move products and materials throughout the warehouse or production facility
  • Load and unload trucks accurately and efficiently
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage and accuracy
  • Organize inventory and maintain designated storage locations
  • Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment issues or safety concerns
  • Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist with inventory counts and general warehouse duties as needed
  • Work closely with warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure efficient operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating a sit-down forklift required
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends if needed
  • Valid OSHA Forklift Certification required
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the shift
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable transportation required
