Job description

The Role

This is a founding President & Chief Operating Officer role โ€” the senior operating executive accountable for building, leading, and scaling the entire electric vehicle business from the ground up. You will own full P&L responsibility across commercial strategy, operations, manufacturing execution, and go-to-market performance, leading both the operating company and its vehicle brand.

You will report to the Chairman & CEO of BroadPeak Investment Group, who will partner closely with you through the early build โ€” particularly on regulatory, capital, and manufacturer-relationship matters โ€” while you own day-to-day execution. This is a rare opportunity to build and own the trajectory of a company from day one: a leader who delivers will have room to grow with the platform as it scales nationally.

Your First 18 Months โ€” The Build

Success in this role is measured by outcomes, not activity. The defining early milestones are concrete:

  • Stand up the Georgia assembly operation in Conyers โ€” site readiness, equipment buildout, workforce ramp (including state Quick Start training), SOPs, and quality systems.
  • Drive the vehicles through U.S. regulatory certification โ€” FMVSS / LSV self-certification via NHTSA and the broader compliance pathway โ€” in partnership with counsel and the manufacturer.
  • Complete the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) and stand up a compliant franchise/dealer program โ€” a hard prerequisite before any franchise sales.
  • Build and launch the nationwide network of dealers, distributors, and franchisees, and close the first franchise/fleet cohort.
  • Establish unit economics, route-to-margin discipline, and a repeatable production-to-delivery model that scales from pilot volume toward several thousand units per year.
What You Will Own
  • Full P&L accountability across revenue, margin, cash, and operational performance.
  • Manufacturing & assembly โ€” the Conyers operation end to end: facility, workforce, production scaling, quality, and the manufacturer relationship (supply planning, CKD/SKD execution, product alignment).
  • Go-to-market & commercial โ€” B2B strategy across all target verticals and key fleet customers; sales, marketing, pricing, and channel activation; building and scaling the dealer/distributor/franchise network.
  • Regulatory & certification โ€” compliance across U.S. markets: FMVSS/NHTSA certification, import and customs strategy, and state LSV/registration, dealer, and franchise requirements.
  • Brand โ€” stewardship and growth of the vehicle brand as a distinct, private-label-ready identity.
  • Team โ€” recruit and develop a lean, high-leverage leadership bench (manufacturing/plant, sales/channel, finance) as volume justifies.
  • External leadership โ€” serve as a senior face of the company with customers, partners, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
What You Bring
  • Ideal background. You come from the EV, small-vehicle, or low-speed-vehicle world โ€” golf cart / PTV / utility-vehicle, neighborhood EV, or commercial last-mile โ€” and you have lived the assembly, certification, and dealer-network realities of that industry firsthand.
  • Two non-negotiables. Demonstrated, hands-on success in (1) scaling a vehicle/equipment assembly or manufacturing operation โ€” CKD/SKD/OEM or contract-manufacturing experience strongly preferred โ€” and (2) building and selling through B2B dealer, distributor, or franchise networks. Depth in one and credible command of the other is expected.
  • 10โ€“15+ years of executive leadership in automotive, EV, fleet, equipment, or related manufacturing industries, with direct P&L ownership.
  • Commercial fleet command โ€” strong understanding of commercial fleet markets or adjacent verticals (delivery, agriculture, golf, utilities, municipal, the trades).
  • Regulatory fluency โ€” working command of certification and import frameworks for vehicles or equipment (FMVSS/NHTSA, customs/tariff, state registration); franchise/FDD literacy is a strong plus.
  • Logistics exposure โ€” last-mile, parcel, or freight experience, and any hands-on work with large-scale electric fleet deployments, is directly transferable and highly valued.
How You Work
  • A builder who thrives in early-stage, high-accountability environments and creates structure, systems, and clarity out of ambiguity.
  • Strong bias for execution; comfortable making high-impact decisions quickly with imperfect information.
  • Entrepreneurial ownership mindset โ€” measured by outcomes, not effort โ€” and energized by taking something from zero to scale.
  • Capital-disciplined and equity-motivated: you are drawn to building durable enterprise value, not to a large salary.
Compensation & Ownership

This role is built for an owner-operator. Compensation pairs a competitive base salary and milestone-based annual incentive with a meaningful equity stake (profits interest) that vests on time and value-creation hurdles โ€” the primary wealth-creation mechanism in this venture. Qualified candidates may also be offered the opportunity to co-invest alongside the founder. Base salary is deliberately disciplined relative to public-company peers; the real upside is in the equity you help create.

Location

On-site at our corporate office in Sandy Springs, GA, with a regular, hands-on presence at the assembly operation in Conyers, GA. Mondayโ€“Friday.
