Refrigeration Operator (Class B / 3rd Class) – Ammonia Systems
**3rd and 4th level apprentices welcome to apply!**
Etobicoke, ON
$42/hr + $1.25/hr afternoon premium + OT + Full Benefits + Pension
Shift (Consistent Schedule – Built-In Days Off):
  • Mon–Wed: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
  • Sat–Sun: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Thurs & Fri OFF
This is a real operator role — not just monitoring screens.

If you have hands-on experience with ammonia systems and can troubleshoot issues on the floor, this is a strong opportunity in a stable food manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Operate and monitor ammonia (NH) and Freon refrigeration systems (TSSA compliant)
  • Troubleshoot compressors, motors, condensers, valves, and controls
  • Perform daily system checks, logs, and preventative maintenance
  • Handle temperature calls, manual defrosts, and system adjustments
  • Support general plant maintenance and utilities as needed
What You Bring
  • Class B Refrigeration Operator (TSSA) OR 3rd Class Operating Engineer
  • Open to Apprentices with 2+ years hands-on ammonia/refrigeration experience
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical + basic electrical)
  • Comfortable working in cold storage environments (-18°C)
  • Able to work independently and respond to issues in real time
