Who You Are:

Versar is currently seeking a Service Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day facility operations and maintenance of buildings that require a combination of dedicated in-house staff and subcontractor-based servicing approaches. This position requires practical skill and knowledge in skilled trade areas including electrical, structural, security access and monitoring.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensures federal, state, local and corporate policy and regulatory compliance
  • Manages and oversees facility specific operations and maintenance processes and procedures overseeing day-to-day performance of various on-site work crews
  • Coordinates with client to ensure acceptable level of impact on production while performing maintenance and construction activities
  • Acts as primary customer contact to review schedules and cost and technical performance.
  • Ability to use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to create, assign, and track work orders (Nuvolo)
  • Plans, coordinates and monitors the renovation and modification of existing facilities
  • Develops and implements facility specific operations and maintenance processes as required
  • Evaluates schedules and work assignments where there are task and resource conflicts
  • Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance for the facility under the manager’s control including responding to urgent and emergency situations
  • Monitors facility and services metrics, identifying and evaluating emerging issues, and making recommendations to ensure performance to standards are achieved
  • Identifies the need for vendors and subcontractors and coordinates requirements
  • Establishes an inventory strategy that ensures adequate supplies are available to support routine preventive maintenance including long lead items
  • Provides direction, development, and coaching to employees
  • Supports the preparation of proposals in response to site-specific RFPs; operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
  • Able to enforce company and Union agreement policy on progressive discipline
  • Serves as liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, regulatory agencies, material and equipment suppliers, and other parties as required
  • Ensures employees are current in skill and regulatory training, ensuring all activities comply with safety and health regulations, maintaining a safe working environment
  • Provide accurate reports and documentation for daily activities as well as monthly reports for submission to the client
  • Conduct regular inspections of assigned work areas for completed projects to ensure work meets company standards

What You’ll Bring:

  • At least 5 years’ technical training and/or job-related experience in facility operations and maintenance overseeing daily operations of teams of varying skill sets and levels
  • Successful candidate must have a proven track record in work team management, schedule management, and customer relations
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in facility operations and maintenance
  • Must have solid verbal and written reporting experience
  • Outstanding team working skills are a must
  • Must possess and maintain an active and valid NC driver's license without restrictions.
  • Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
  • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
  • Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.

Compensation

Expected Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year

Location Requirements
