Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting, improving, and optimizing assembly operations through direct engagement with production processes, equipment, and personnel. This is a highly hands-on role that combines engineering expertise with practical problem-solving on the manufacturing floor. The successful candidate will work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to improve safety, quality, and productivity,.

Shift Hours: Monday - Friday 6 am to 2:30 pm

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Process Support

  • Provide daily engineering support to assembly operations.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing documents, such as, Work instructions, standardized work, PFMEAs and assembly procedures.
  • Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis methodologies to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
  • Conduct time studies, line balancing activities, and workflow analysis.
  • Implement poka-yoke (error-proofing) solutions and process controls.

Equipment and Tooling

  • Design, specify, and implement assembly fixtures, tooling, and workstations.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
  • Evaluate automation opportunities and assist with implementation projects.

Quality and Problem Solving

  • Investigate manufacturing and assembly defects using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
  • Support PFMEA, control plan development, and process validation efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.

Project Management

  • Lead manufacturing-related projects from concept through implementation.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate activities with production, quality, maintenance, purchasing, and suppliers.
  • Support new product introductions and engineering change implementation.

Floor Engagement

  • Maintain a strong presence on the production floor.
  • Work directly with operators to identify process improvements and resolve production concerns.
  • Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Required

  • Degree preferred in Engineering or related technical disciplines.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, bills of materials, and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred

  • Experience with automation, robotics, and assembly tooling.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP and MES systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality management systems.
  • CAD experience (Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work on the production floor for extended periods.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work around manufacturing equipment and machinery while following all safety requirements.

$65,200.00 - $118,860.00
