  Do you enjoy fixing things and working with your hands? Opal Foods is hiring a Farm Maintenance Technician for our Litchfield, MN farm. In this job you would maintain all equipment in the laying hen houses. Successful candidates must be able to work in a farm/live animal (dusty) environment.

For information on Opal Foods, please visit our website at www.opal-foods.com.Position Responsibilities:Keep equipment running and operating safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment such as electric motors, pneumatic systems, and conveyor systems.Perform preventive and urgent maintenance on production machinery and equipmentDiagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustmentsTake a proactive approach to issue resolution including root cause analyses and error proofing controls related to down timeUse a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform dutiesDetect and report faulty operations, defective material and any unusual situations to the proper supervisorComply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areasAssist the Production Team with other projects and duties as neededPhysical Requirements of a Maintenance Technician:Fast paced work environmentLift fifty or more pounds on a regular basisBend, lift, pull, push, stoop, bend and climbWork in a general farm environment around live animalsRequirements: (knowledge, experience, skills, education)Mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsPrevious experience troubleshooting equipment, performing preventive maintenance and repairing industrial processing equipmentOrganized and detail orientedMust work some weekendsAble and willing to work off schedule shifts and/or nights when necessaryPreferred Qualifications:3 years of experience in maintenance related rolesBenefits: Opal Foods, LLC offers a comprehensive benefits package.
