Job Description
The Onsite Engineer role is located full-time in Kings Bay, GA at the Navy's SUBASE, for a large multi-discipline project providing new and renovated facilities for landside support of the Navy's mission.
We are seeking qualified candidates with proven design and construction related experience, with a desire and focus in construction administration, ideally having been located on-site in previous roles. The importance of this role is shared by AECOM and our client, to be part of a team for AECOM and client advocacy.
Candidates should possess demonstrated experience monitoring construction works against the Contract Documents, and construction administration activities generally. Candidates should have experience and passion for constructability matters and on-site activities and procedures - to regularly interface with the contractor and client's site personnel. The role and responsibilities are provided under our construction technical support scope of services for the project.
Job Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
  • Onsite Representation for AECOM for PCAS Services (construction technical and administrative support), working closely with Client and User Group(s). The role is on-site full time.
  • Accountable for the planning and coordination of site related activities, with AECOM Office staff and Designers of Record (DORs).
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and other AECOM technical personnel to deliver efficient and effective PCAS Services.
  • Interface with multiple contractors on behalf of Client and AECOM.
  • Attend regular project meetings and facilitate key actions with AECOM office team.
  • Support evaluation and determining course for resolution of issues to Client and contractors.
  • Assist the Project Management team in reviewing and implementing RFI's, Submittals, Shop Drawings, and change orders.
  • Assist the Project Manager in reviewing project scheduling of PCAS activities related to overall construction.
  • Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate.
  • Attend QC and Production meetings and prepare minutes, daily reports, and summary of actions required for PCAS.
  • Support and monitor design changes, contractor and sub-contractor activities and progress.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in engineering + 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Licensed Engineer or ability to obtain license/registration within 1-year of employment.
  • Design and Construction related experience including with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience with constructability and building/Site systems.
  • Primary background can be structural, electrical, mechanical, or civil.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements including building codes, construction types, accessibility, and Life Safety.
  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience with emphasis on construction related services.
  • Experience in building systems, engineering, and details - related to construction phase.
  • Experience with contractual document requirements, industry standards, and experience related to risk and standards of care.
  • Experience with Federal Department of Defense projects and processes.
  • Experience with construction phase of project delivery.
