Department Information
The University of West Georgia Tanner Health School of Nursing strives for ¿educational excellence in a caring environment¿ with over 550 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. SON instructional facilities are state of the art including spectacular lab and simulation spaces in Carrollton and Newnan. Undergraduate programs include a pre-licensure BSN program and a 100% online RN to BSN program. Graduate programs are also online including an MSN program (Nurse Educator Track or Health Systems Leadership), as well as an innovative EdD in Nursing Education program.
Job Summary
Tenure-track academic-year faculty appointment available with a start date of xxx. This position includes teaching on all UWG campuses. The selected candidate will promote student success at all levels, undergraduate BSN , MSN, and EdD students in varied settings. Further, the successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of the ability for scholarly productivity and service, broadly defined. Applicants are sought in all clinical practice backgrounds.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching in online and traditional classroom settings; simulation, laboratory, and clinical instruction-60%. Service to the school/university/profession/community-20%, scholarly productivity including research, publication and grant writing-20%
Required Qualifications
Applicants are required to hold a terminal degree in nursing with a clinical background in specialty area(s).
Strong clinical practice background. An active RN eNLC license to practice nursing in Georgia (or eligible).
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include certification in a specialty area, teaching experience in prelicensure RN and graduate nursing education, including clinical, laboratory, didactic and online teaching experience. A record of accomplishments in working with diverse populations of students is strongly desired. Evidence of a current, active, scholarly program is also preferred.
