Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a PR / External Communications Manager based in Netherlands.

As a PR / External Communications Manager, you will shape and strengthen the public reputation of a global portfolio of digital products. You'll develop compelling PR initiatives, thought leadership, and reputation-management strategies designed to increase brand awareness and visibility. The role combines strategic communications with hands-on writing, campaign execution, media engagement, and online reputation management. You'll also help build the public profiles of senior executives and support communications around events, issues, and crisis situations. Working in a fully remote, international environment, you'll collaborate with Marketing, SEO, Legal, external agencies, and specialist partners. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact on globally distributed products while working with a diverse and highly collaborative team.

Accountabilities
  • Plan and execute PR and external communications initiatives that strengthen product reputation, increase brand awareness, and support broader marketing objectives.
  • Develop creative and potentially viral PR campaigns, from initial brainstorming and concept development through execution and measurement.
  • Manage the online reputation of key products through paid placements, Search Engine Reputation Management (SERM), branded search monitoring, and related initiatives.
  • Write, edit, and oversee high-quality communications content, including press materials, articles, SEO-focused content, thought leadership pieces, and executive communications.
  • Oversee the creation, publication, and management of user reviews to support positive online reputation and brand perception.
  • Coordinate external vendors, PR agencies, freelancers, and other communication partners to ensure projects are delivered effectively and consistently.
  • Support the development of C-level executives' public profiles by preparing communications content, identifying media opportunities, and coordinating external engagements.
  • Assist with event planning, preparation, messaging, and communications activities when required.
  • Partner with Marketing, SEO, Legal, and other internal stakeholders on reputation, communications, and brand-protection initiatives.
  • Contribute to crisis communications and issues-management efforts, helping protect brand reputation and ensure clear, timely external messaging.
Requirements
  • Professional experience in PR, external communications, corporate communications, reputation management, or a closely related field.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences, channels, and communication objectives.
  • Strong understanding of Search Engine Reputation Management (SERM) and broader online reputation-management practices.
  • Good knowledge of SEO principles and demonstrated ability to create content that supports organic search visibility.
  • Experience developing PR campaigns and external communications initiatives, ideally with measurable brand or reputation outcomes.
  • Basic understanding of crisis and issues communications, with practical experience in this area considered a strong advantage.
  • Strong project-management and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, external partners, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working across Marketing, SEO, Legal, agencies, and senior stakeholders.
  • Creativity, strategic thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to identify compelling stories and communication opportunities.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote, international environment with distributed teams.
Benefits
  • Fully remote, full-time work with the flexibility to work from anywhere.
  • Competitive compensation, with the initial salary level or range communicated during the recruitment process before employment begins.
  • 28 calendar days of vacation per year.
  • 7 wellness days per year for personal recovery, household matters, or general well-being.
  • Referral bonuses of up to $5,000 for successful candidate recommendations.
  • 50% reimbursement for professional training, international conferences, and industry events.
  • Corporate discounts for English-language lessons.
  • Health support of up to $1,000 gross per year per employee for eligible employees who do not have access to corporate medical insurance, usable toward private health insurance or eligible medical expenses for themselves and close relatives.
  • Workplace setup support, including equipment and workspace provisions where available, or reimbursement of up to $1,000 gross every three years toward coworking or home-office expenses.
  • An internal gamified recognition program where colleagues can award bonuses that can be exchanged for merchandise, team-building activities, massage certificates, and other rewards.
