What We Look For In a Web Development Tutor
  • Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, back-end development with frameworks like Node.js or Django, database integration, RESTful API design, version control with Git, deployment, and responsive design. Emphasizes modern development practices including version control and testing, connecting web development to startup technology, e-commerce, and SaaS product creation.
  • Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with web development curricula and bootcamp formats, and common challenges such as understanding asynchronous JavaScript, designing database schemas, and managing deployment environments. Adapts instruction using project-based learning, code reviews, and incremental application building to support students from HTML beginners through advanced developers building production-ready full-stack web applications.
  • Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
