Job description

DFS Operations Manager
As a DFS Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth, efficient daily operations while supporting drivers, office staff, and customers. Working closely with the General Manager and leadership team, you will help drive service excellence, operational compliance, and positive employee experience.
About Temco Logistics
Temco Logistics has been a trusted provider of final-mile delivery services since 1968. We proudly partner with The Home Depot to deliver a Direct-from-Store (DFS) experience, allowing customers to place online orders and receive next-day delivery of essential building materials and home improvement products.
Products eligible for next-day delivery include concrete, doors and windows, drywall, fencing, grills, in-stock cabinets, laminate flooring, lumber, pavers and step stones, plywood, pressure-treated wood and decking, riding mowers, roofing, and tile.
Schedule & Work Environment
  • Schedule: Monday-Saturday with a 4:30 AM start time
  • On-call daily to support field teams
  • Travel required (1-3 hour Distance Drive occationaly)
  • Must be able to commute between Sites
  • Hands-on role supporting operations in the field (DFS - Direct from Store)

Must-Have Qualifications
  • CDL Class B - Flat Bead Experience is a Plus
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card
  • (Commercial driving experience preferred)
  • Experienced driving 26-foot box trucks
  • Willingness to work in the field, including Space and Visibility rides
  • SAMSARA Knowledge
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Operations, Logistics, or Transportation Management
  • Strong leadership and transportation experience

Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations & Routing
  • Open and manage daily driving routes
  • Monitor driver performance and route execution
  • Route and balance daily stop efficiently
  • Schedule and confirm delivery teams each day
  • Utilize routing and mapping software to optimize routes
  • Provide directions and support to drivers as needed
  • Communicating with drivers and customers when required

Operational Support
  • Support field teams through hands-on leadership and coaching
  • Assist with reports, task implementation, and daily operational needs
  • Complete assignments as directed by the General Manager
  • Ensure compliance with safety, service, and operational standards

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and phone-based instructions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Flexible, dependable, and team-oriented
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a positive, solution-focused attitude
