Manager of Communications

Hiring Range $105,601.60 to $144,317.33

Job Summary:

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Manager of Communications is responsible for management of organizational communication strategies to ensure compliance with Southcentral Foundation’s Vision, Mission, and values. Responsibilities include serving as a subject matter expert for communication strategy on internal communication channels, driving brand awareness for internal and external customers, and overseeing the daily operations and supervision of the communications team.

SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services:

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, journalism, English, advertising, public relations, marketing, or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Four (4) years of professional experience in communication strategy, communication planning, and communication methods and tactics, OR demonstrated proficiency as a Senior Communications Specialist or Senior Marketing Specialist at Southcentral Foundation.

Native Preference: 

Under P.L. 93-638, as amended, the company pursues a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting and training.  SCF Human Resources must receive certification before applicants receive preference.
