What We Look For In a Math 1 Tutor
- Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of linear equations and inequalities, functions and function families, systems of equations, exponential functions, basic statistics and data analysis, geometric transformations, and congruence. Ability to explain slope-intercept form, function notation, and rigid transformations while preparing students for integrated math progression and standardized testing including state assessments.

- Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with Integrated Math 1 curricula and Common Core standards, and common challenges such as writing linear equations from context, understanding function notation, and constructing geometric arguments. Adapts instruction using interactive graphing tools, hands-on transformation activities, and contextual problems to support students transitioning from middle school to high school integrated mathematics.
