What is an online learning design lead?

Online Learning Design Leads are professionals responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of digital educational content and programs. They collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and technology teams to ensure that online courses are engaging, effective, and aligned with learning objectives. Their role often involves project management, quality assurance, and adopting innovative instructional technologies to enhance the online learning experience.

How does the online learning design lead collaborate with subject matter experts and other stakeholders during course development?

As an Online Learning Design Lead, you will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructional designers, multimedia specialists, and project managers throughout the course development process. Your role involves facilitating regular meetings to gather content, aligning learning objectives with instructional strategies, and providing guidance on best practices for online pedagogy. Effective communication and project management skills are key, as you must balance input from various stakeholders while ensuring the final product meets quality and accessibility standards.
