Position Summary AJU’s Masor School for Jewish Education and Leadership invites applications for part-time lecturers who will be teaching and supporting our two online doctoral degree programs. Both programs are structured as 3-year, 8-semesters-long (3 fall, 3 spring, 2, summer), cohort-based formats, designed for working professionals, blending asynchronous distance learning with high-touch, community-building components.

The Adjunct Lecturers will conduct weekly synchronous online classes, facilitates learning via active student discussions, answers student questions regarding course content and processes, responds to discussion board posts and remains current in subject-matter trends as well as the content covered in the course. Adjunct Lecturers may also be invited to serve in the capacity of Doctoral Committee Chair or Committee Member for a duration of two years. Doctoral dissertation committee service and are determined by individual student needs.

Ed.D. in Early Childhood Education Leadership – Meets synchronously Wednesdays from 4:30-6:30PM PDT

The EdD in Early Childhood Education Leadership is a first-of-its-kind, fully online professional doctorate that integrates Jewish pedagogy with advanced leadership in early childhood education. This program is designed for leaders ready to move beyond individual classrooms and into roles that shape systems, strategy, and policy. Graduates are equipped to transform the institutions that support Jewish children and families, elevating both practice and impact across the field.

Ed.D. in Jewish Education & Communal Leadership – Meets synchronously Mondays from 4:30-6:30PM PDT

A practice-driven EdD for experienced leaders in Jewish education and communal life. The EdD in Jewish Education and Communal Leadership integrates applied research with strategic leadership development, preparing professionals to address real organizational challenges and lead systemic change. Students learn within a diverse cohort of senior leaders across educational, nonprofit, and public sectors, focused on reimagining institutions and strengthening Jewish communal life.

Minimum Requirements:

• Terminal degree (EdD or PhD) required. Degree specialization or experience in educational leadership, early childhood education, PK-12, or a closely related field is strongly preferred.

• Experience serving on doctoral dissertation committees is highly desired.

• Experience teaching in an online educational environment, experience with Canvas LMS preferred.

• Ability to take initiative and self-manage.

• Proficiency with Word and PowerPoint.

• Learn new technologies/programs quickly (e.g., LMS/Canvas)

Other Requirements:

• A device with wired/high-speed internet connection sufficient to effectively conduct online activities.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • • The role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time in order to lead Zoom sessions.
  • • Must be able to communicate effectively in person, via video conferencing, and by phone.

Compensation

The hourly rate for teaching courses is $152.10

Additional compensation for service on a dissertation doctoral committee or chair for a minimum of two years.
