Job Summary
Concord University, a proud member of the NCAA Division II and the Mountain East Conference, invites applications for the position of Assistant Football Coach. This position is responsible for assisting the Head Football Coach in all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division II football program while supporting the mission of Concord University and its Department of Athletics. This stipend-based position provides coaching and operational support for the University's football program during the designated season.
The Assistant Football Coach assists the Head Football Coach and full-time coaching staff with all aspects of the football program, including coaching student-athletes, practice and game preparation, recruiting support, and player development.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student-athlete development, academic success, competitive excellence, and compliance with NCAA, Mountain East Conference, and University policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duty/Responsibility
  • Coach a designated position group as assigned by the Head Football Coach.
  • Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes who fit the academic and athletic mission of Concord University.
  • Develop and implement practice plans and individual skill instruction.
  • Assist with game planning, opponent scouting, film breakdown, and in-game coaching.
  • Evaluate prospective student-athletes through on-campus visits, high school visits, camps, and film review.
  • Maintain consistent communication with recruits, families, coaches, and campus partners.
  • Support the academic progress, personal growth, and overall well-being of student-athletes.
  • Assist with football camps, clinics, fundraising initiatives, and community engagement activities.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned, including equipment, travel, compliance documentation, recruiting database management, and social media content.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, discipline, and sportsmanship.
  • Ensure full compliance with NCAA Division II, Mountain East Conference, and Concord University rules and regulations.
  • Support the recruitment and retention of prospective student-athletes in accordance with NCAA, Mountain East Conference, and Concord University regulations.
  • Promote academic success, personal development, and sportsmanship among student-athletes.
  • Assist with game-day operations and team travel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach.
