Position Overview:
Under the general supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, the Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleaning and performing all cleaning services at Granville Medical Center, Brantwood Nursing Center and adjoining facilities pertaining to Environmental Services and laundry.  Performs within prescribed limits of the Medical Center/Departments Ethics and Compliance programs.  Is responsible to detect, observe and report compliance variances to immediate supervisor or upward through the chain of command, the Compliance Officer or the GMC hotline.

Position Highlights:

  • Starting Rate: $14.00 (Commensurate with experience)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Performs sanitizing and disinfecting work throughout the hospital, Brantwood and clinics in patient care areas, exam rooms, waiting rooms, restrooms, offices, meeting rooms, etc.

2. Performs general cleaning tasks such as but not limited to trash/recycling/biohazard removal, dusting, damp wiping, glass cleaning,

vacuuming, spot cleaning, polishing and mopping.

3. Performs  "Detail Cleaning" such as wiping ceiling vents, high/low dusting, wiping furniture, edge vacuuming and baseboard cleaning.

4. Performs basic equipment care, checks for wear and damage on assigned equipment.

5. Complies with department Quality Control Reports and makes corrections to work quality quickly.

6. Stays current and knowledgeable on proper disinfection practices and infection control requirements by following Granville Medical standards and techniques for infection reduction.

7. Observes and inspects assigned areas for maintenance and security needs and reports needed repairs as soon as possible.

8. Keeps EVS cart clean and stocked and paper and chemical supplies stored in work rooms neat and organized.

9. Follows the rules and intent of the department's regulations and safety guidelines.

10. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.  Must have the ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral instructions and directions.  Training and experience:  On the job training is provided. Knowledge: Must have knowledge of basic principles of cleaning and have the ability to follow instructions and schedules.  Must possess the ability to perform all duties as assigned.

Preferred:
Previous EVS experience desirable
