About the role: In support of our mission, we are seeking an intern to join our editorial team this fall. As an intern, you will write and report articles for our newsletters and website, assist with newsletter production, research ideas for stories and speakers for our events and gatherings, and help with operational efficiencies. You will be working alongside team members who previously held senior roles at The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Quartz, WIRED, Forbes, BusinessWeek, The Washington Post, and The Atlantic.
Responsibilities:
  • Write short articles and aggregation items for Charter's free and paid newsletter audiences, as well as our in-depth playbook articles.
  • Support weekly newsletter production.
  • Research ideas for articles and other editorial projects.
  • Help identify speaker and attendee names for events, webinars, and gatherings.
  • Pitch in on other editorial projects as needed to help our editorial operations run more smoothly.

Requirements:
  • Fast, clean, accurate writer.
  • Sharp editorial instincts-you know how to monitor social and other media outlets, confirm facts, and spot angles that are a fit for Charter's audience.
  • Strong verbal communicator and collaborator.
  • Coachable-you approach your work with a learning mindset, take feedback well, and act on it.
  • Organized and resourceful, with the initiative to take on new projects without a lot of hand-holding.
  • Low ego, high ambition.

This position is remotely based, with a preference for applicants who are based on the West Coast, especially San Francisco. The internship pays $25 per hour, and we will consider part-time or full-time for the right candidate.
