Job description

UNM Online is a supportive work environment withstaff who are passionate about the mission of the university andwhowant to do meaningful workin a key part of the universitywitha healthy work-life balance. There is the opportunity for this to be a multi-semester position.

The Online Compliance Assistant reports to the Program Planning Officer overseeing online curriculum and distance education compliance. The PPO is also responsible for monitoring state and federalregulationsrelated to distance education and providing guidance on the University's compliance responsibilities. The OC Assistanthelpsthe unit's compliance professionals with research and data management support. Under direct supervision, the position will engage with the wider university and higher education community and support the compliance team's efforts tofoster relationships gained by sharing insight and resources.

UNM Online is looking for someoneorganized and detailed-oriented,with excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, andthe ability tomaintain detailed records.Preferred candidates demonstrate interest in higher education and policy research and have familiarity with online education.
Duties:

  • Helps the compliance team monitor regulatory landscape as it relates to distance education, professional licensure, and related higher education topics.
  • Helps team maintain accurate and organized database and file structures.
  • Takes comprehensive notes during meetings with academic programs and departments to document essential content, decisions, and action items. 
  • Follow detailed technical instructions.
  • May participate in meetings and communications with university and higher education community.
  • May undertake related professional development asappropriate tothe objectivesof the operating unit.
  • May assist teamin researchingand recording regulations and requirements associated with professional licensure and their impacts to UNMdegree programs.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
