Job description

NexTech High School in Grand Rapids is currently hiring a Spanish Teacher. Michigan teaching certificate required with endorsement.

Working from NexTech High School, the certified teacher will support students in a face-to-face setting utilizing an online curriculum to provide content area instruction as well as mentoring a small group toward graduation and life throughout their high school career. The teacher will actively facilitate whole group, small group, and individualized instruction to students, based on need. All instruction will support, and be aligned, with the students' online curriculum and the Common Core State Standards.
At NexTech High School, Grand Rapids, teachers, and students spend their day in an open environment that was specifically designed to mirror a more contemporary office environment while supporting student instructional needs. NexTech embraces the Small Schools Initiative, serving approximately 150 students who work closely with a teacher-advisor to monitor their progress and tailor their school experience to meet their individual needs, interests, and life circumstances.

  • Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
