| POSITION
Substitute High School Science Instructor
| GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This instructor will teach science courses to 10th, 11th, and/or 12th grade students at Butler Tech's Natural Science Center in Monroe. As a department of one, the instructor will teach across multiple science disciplines, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science.
The 72-acre campus provides an authentic learning environment where science instruction can connect with real-world applications in agriculture, animal science, and natural resources.
This is a full-time substitute assignment from December 2026 through May 2027. The permanent, full-time Science Instructor position for the 2027 2028 school year will be posted separately in Spring 2027.
| QUALIFICATIONS
  • Appropriate licensure through the Ohio State Board of Education covering all Science course areas for Grades 10- 12 such as Integrated Science (132010) and/or Comprehensive Science (130000);
  • Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member;
  • Computer expertise appropriate to the position;
  • Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills;
  • State-issued identification card with photograph;
  • History of strong work record, including good job attendance; and
  • Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy.
