Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • More than three years of experience in PC troubleshooting and Network troubleshooting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Operating knowledge of personal computers and peripherals.
  • Operating knowledge with Microsoft Office and other software productivity applications.
  • Experience with Windows, Apple, and Macintosh operating systems.
  • Operating knowledge of email systems.
  • Knowledge and ability to provide support for network operating systems.
  • English language skills, bilingual desired.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Personal computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of personnel in a positive and cooperative manner.
  • Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret policies and procedures, laws, rules and instructions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain communications by:
    1. Meeting with supervisor and/or District staff, e.g., vendors, District needs.
    2. Being accessible via District communication devices.
    3. Assessing, prioritizing and managing Help Desk tickets.
  2. Provide network support by:
    1. Installing and supporting Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) equipment.
    2. Testing for server hardware and software application compatibility.
    3. Setting up and administering remote access.
    4. Testing and deploying new desktop operating systems.
    5. Troubleshooting and supporting network cabling.
    6. Implementing network management tools.
    7. Planning and implementing assigned software and hardware upgrade projects.
  3. Provide wireless support by:
    1. Installing and maintaining wireless network, access points, and/or central controllers.
    2. Administering wireless security.
    3. Planning and implementing assigned software and hardware upgrade projects.
  4. Provide desktop and mobile device support by:
    1. Acting as second level support.
    2. Creating and managing computer images in a complex network with multiple software applications.
    3. Troubleshooting and administrating many software applications used across the organization.
    4. Implementing large scale equipment replacement cycles.
    5. Planning and implementing assigned software and hardware upgrade projects.
  5. Provide server support by:
    1. Assessing requirements for server applications.
    2. Installing server applications.
    3. Planning and implementing assigned software and hardware upgrade projects.
  6. Provide services to the District by:
    1. Ensuring completed tasks meet District standards.
    2. Performing other tasks as assigned.
  7. Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality of any information regarding students, personnel and all job-related matters.
