Qualifications:Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- More than three years of experience in PC troubleshooting and Network troubleshooting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Operating knowledge of personal computers and peripherals.
- Operating knowledge with Microsoft Office and other software productivity applications.
- Experience with Windows, Apple, and Macintosh operating systems.
- Operating knowledge of email systems.
- Knowledge and ability to provide support for network operating systems.
- English language skills, bilingual desired.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Personal computer and keyboarding skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of personnel in a positive and cooperative manner.
- Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret policies and procedures, laws, rules and instructions.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to pass various pre-employment background screenings.
- Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, building and department procedures.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Certifications in computer hardware and/or software support preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain communications by:
- Meeting with supervisor and/or District staff, e.g., vendors, District needs.
- Being accessible via District communication devices.
- Assessing, prioritizing and managing Help Desk tickets.
- Provide network support by:
- Installing and supporting Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) equipment.
- Testing for server hardware and software application compatibility.
- Setting up and administering remote access.
- Testing and deploying new desktop operating systems.
- Troubleshooting and supporting network cabling.
- Implementing network management tools.
- Planning and implementing assigned software and hardware upgrade projects.
- Provide wireless support by:
- Installing and maintaining wireless network, access points, and/or central controllers.
- Administering wireless security.
- Planning and implementing assigned software and hardware upgrade projects.
- Provide desktop and mobile device support by:
- Acting as second level support.
- Creating and managing computer images in a complex network with multiple software applications.
- Troubleshooting and administrating many software applications used across the organization.
- Implementing large scale equipment replacement cycles.
- Planning and implementing assigned software and hardware upgrade projects.
- Provide server support by:
- Assessing requirements for server applications.
- Installing server applications.
- Planning and implementing assigned software and hardware upgrade projects.
- Provide services to the District by:
- Ensuring completed tasks meet District standards.
- Performing other tasks as assigned.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality of any information regarding students, personnel and all job-related matters.
