Reports to: Athletic Director
Purpose: To create educational opportunities and experiences, through athletics, that will enhance student achievement, student development, and school culture.
Payment Rate: Coaches Schedule
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or higher degree
  • Proof of First Aid and CPR certificates
  • Must provide coaching endorsement through PTSB (Middle School and High School level)
  • Complete Criminal Justice Fingerprinting and Background Clearance

Duties Shall include But Are Not Limited To:
  1. Maintain the highest order of professionalism and display the highest level of ethical and moral behavior at all times including building positive relationships with athletes, staff, parents, booster clubs and community. The coach will create a student-centered environment and team culture of success as defined by the district in the national coaching standards.
  2. Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic, personal responsibility, and competitiveness to all student athletes. The coach will uphold district policy.
  3. Supervise student athletes before, during, and after practices and contests; including in the locker rooms, on buses, and at all other times. The coach will be at all practices and games on time and will not leave until all students have left.
  4. Know how to apply basic first aid, maintain and utilize athletic department assigned first aid kit, and complete an incident report for injuries or problems that occur at any athletic practices or games.
  5. Execute district and facility emergency protocols.
  6. Condition athletes with developmentally and age appropriate activities that include: endurance, strength, and agility.
  7. Conduct practices which place emphasis on the importance of teamwork, skill development, learning rules and strategies, and student athlete improvement.
  8. Maintain a current spreadsheet of athletic inventory for the program and be in charge of cleaning, storing, and maintaining all assigned equipment.
  9. Provide activities secretary with missing inventory fees (jersey, equipment, etc.)
  10. Varsity head coaches are expected to promote the program during the off-season and communicate with all lower-level coaches within the program.
  11. Follow through on all required paperwork including, but not limited to online coaching orientation, updated and current rosters, and parent consent forms.
  12. Adhere to all district handbooks, as well as the WHSAA handbook.
  13. 80 account knowledge and understanding ie., eligible uses and fundraising.
  14. Manage district on-line forms, ie., transportation requests, leave requests, fundraisers, etc.
  15. Perform other duties assigned by the building Principal or Athletic Director.

Work Days: Determined by Superintendent.
Physical Requirements:
Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials, stooping, bending and reaching, climbing stairs and use a small step ladder.
